There once was a boy named Light
He was tired of fret and fight
Yet he found at his feet
A devious treat
And using it just seemed so right

A notebook so cruel and so rile
To take the life of the bad and the vile
He would kill off the wicked
When his wrist did a flick’ed
He would cleanse the world by the mile

Yet his heart was a trickery woe
For he loved his deadliest foe
A single letter
Made all the better
And he suffered from this terrible woe

Not to be God was not his goal
Yet, it seemed it was the price for this toll
So he killed the bad
And though he was sad
He was beginning to lose his soul

And then where his lover now lied
Light wept, moped, and cried
Because of his pride
His humanity shied
And he found his lover had died

His soul was shaking and tearing
He felt small in the clothes he was wearing
Why was he scared
That he not even dared
To care for the love they could be sharing

The years came and went
Time he had spent
To grieve for the dead
Before lying in bed
And feeling his heart bent

And when Death swept over and he fell
He knew there was nothing to tell
Yet, to his delight
And mildly fright
His lover had welcomed him to Hell
